Éminence helps the NoMakeup Movement

#NoMakeup IMPRESSED? Although, the majority are impressed – it’s hard not to be, her skin is perfect.

In a world where EVERYONE wears make-up, including men, Keys has vowed that she will not wear it. As a result she has had to put up with trolling. When she arrived at the VMAs sans ‘slap’, the backlash (sadly mainly from women) was like deluge of criticism.

We often see women like this who are able to go about their daily business without make-up on, those perfect looking complexions we see in the pub, while we feel like our battle guard is up in the form of high coverage foundation. It’s like a security blanket for us.

SKIN REGIME AND DIET ARE KEY But it’s not just a question of leaving the house with nothing on her face and no preparation. She has reportedly given up dairy, gets acupuncture done regularly and – she has upped the ante big time on her skincare regime. She uses Eminence’s  Clear Skin Probiotic Masque.   CHOOSING THE RIGHT SKINCARE Alicia also has a lot of time for suggestions from her make-up artist, Dotti, who’s more of a skincare artist now when it comes to Alicia’s skin:   “To start, we might do a mask to get some moisture in the skin. We do this lip treatment as well from Éminence [the Lip Trio Kit] —it’s three steps, so it’s nice to do if we have time. Éminence also has a nice rosehip mask [the Rosehip & Maize Exfoliating Masque] that she’ll do.” Okay, so what are the benefits of wearing make-up? Well, Alicia Keys no doubt wears a barrier cream while out and about, something with SPF in it, but now that most foundations and BB creams contain SPF make-up is almost essential to keep harmful, ageing rays away from the skin. In Ireland, with bitter weather, make-up creates an extra barrier of protection on the skin that protects against broken blood vessels and other nasties.   On our own shores, the celeb reviews are coming in, with Aisling O’Loughlin’s amazing radiance showing through from her recent Eminence winter facial.   Sometimes you really need the right foundation, and we don’t mean make-up – we’re talking skincare!
